This type of antenna is the most common mounting style. These antennas simply attach to the outside of housing using one of many different type RF Connectors. The most common of these are the SMA, TNC, and BNC, all of which are available in standard and reverse polarity configurations. Reverse Polarity connectors are important for FCC approval through Reg. 15 parts compliancy, which states that an antenna connecting to the outside of housing must have a non-conforming connector type. FCC Compliant connectors include Reverse Polarity and Reverse Thread styles. Connector Mounts are available for all frequencies from UHF/VHF to 5.2 GHz.
